This page and the next (Pgs. 5 and 6) are 300 dpi TIF files that were converted to JPGs. Many came from the original Confederate Veteran magazine. Almost any paint or Photoshop-type program can make additional modifications to the pictures including cleaning them up or colorizing. Some were scanned as grayscale and halftone images. I'm not sure if they can be used as such after converting to JPGs. Perhaps they can be converted back to TIFs.
